Expert Profile:
Xiang Mingdeng, Ph.D., Researcher, Adjunct Professor at Lanzhou University, Member of the Jiusan Society. He currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Environmental Health Center at the South China Institute of Environmental Sciences, Ministry of Ecology and Environment. He is also a member of the New Pollutants Management Committee of the Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences, an academic committee member of the Hubei Provincial Key Laboratory for Pollution Damage Assessment and Environmental Health Risk Prevention, and an editorial board member of the Journal of Environmental Engineering and Technology.
His research focuses on the exposure assessment and health risk prevention of toxic pollutants. He has led more than 10 research projects, including the National Key Research and Development Program project on "Refined Exposure Assessment Technologies and Equipment for Typical PBT Pollutants". His innovative contributions in the areas of exposure parameters for toxic pollutants, health effects, risk assessment methods, and prevention strategies have been recognized. He has participated in the development of 20 environmental health standards, including the "Technical Guidelines for Population Exposure Assessment of Environmental Pollutants (HJ 875-2017)", holds over 20 patents, and has published more than 80 research papers. His research achievements have won two second-class National Science and Technology Progress Awards, four first-class provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, and his work was selected as one of the "Top Ten Scientific and Technological Advances in China’s Ecological Environment in 2019". He also received the 5th Chinese Society of Environmental Science Youth Scientist Award.
