At the invitation of Professor Dong Guanghui from the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences of Lanzhou University and the Key Laboratory of Western China's Ministry of Environment and Education, Researcher Lan Jianghu from the Institute of Earth Environment of the Chinese Academy of Sciences will come to our university for an academic visit and give a lecture on 21 March 2023, all teachers and students are welcome to attend!

Title: Holocene multi-scale climate evolution in northwest China: chronology-indicator reconstruction and comprehensive integration

Speaker Introduction:

Lan Jianghu, Ph.D., Researcher, distinguished research backbone of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Key technical personnel of Chinese Academy of Sciences, President of Geoscience Branch of Chinese Academy of Sciences Youth Innovation Promotion Association. He is mainly engaged in research on the environmental evolution of lakes and marshes and their reciprocal feedback with human activities, focusing on the Holocene hydroclimate dynamics and its synergistic evolution with human civilization in northwest China, and has made a series of progresses in high-resolution lake sediment chronology system, late Holocene centennial-scale environmental evolution and human civilization feedbacks, Holocene hydroclimate pattern and westerly wind dynamics in Central Asia. He has published more than 70 academic papers, including 18 papers as first/corresponding author in well-known journals such as Geology, Earth-Science Reviews, Quaternary Science Reviews, and Chinese Science: Earth Sciences.
