Lecturer profile:

Xiao Cunde, Professor of Beijing Normal University, Director of State Key Laboratory of Land Surface Processes and Resource Ecology. He is a recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Fund and a member of the "Hundred Talents Program" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has served as Vice President of the International Association of Cryospheric Sciences (IACS), Director of the International Glaciological Society (IGS), Member of the Global Cryosphere Watch (GCW) Program, Member of the Expert Committee of the World Climate Research Programme - Climate and Cryosphere (WCRP/CliC), and Reviewer of the Working Group I Chapter of the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report (AR5). He is currently the national representative of the Physical Working Group of the International Scientific Committee for the Antarctic (SCAR), the national representative of the Cryosphere Working Group of the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC); the coordinator of the lead author (CLA) and the RE of the synthesis volume of the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) Working Group I, and other international academic positions. He is the Chinese Society for Cryospheric Science Secretary General and Vice President of the Chinese Association for Scientific Exploration. He has received the WMO Young Scientist Research Award, the First Prize of Science and Technology Innovation of the State Oceanic Administration, the Outstanding Contribution Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Special Prize of National Higher Education Textbook. He has published more than 300 papers.
